Take some time to relax and transport yourself to a beautiful tranquil garden with this guided meditation. By focussing on your breath you will switch off your fight or flight response and go into rest and digest mode.
Our breath is connected to our inner energy systems – just as it feeds the systems of the physical body, it also nourishes the systems of the subtle body.
- Prana (the vital force and energy of life)
- Samana (the means to digest energy with internal fire, or Agni)
- Vyana (distributes energy to our peripheries)
- Udana (the upward flow of energy)
- Apana (waste removal)
This meditation can be done sitting in a comfortable position on the floor, using a bolster, blocks or blankets for support, or on a chair if more comfortable. If you’re lacking in energy and need to relax try lying in Savasana, using blankets to make you comfortable.
Make sure you won’t be disturbed and set aside at least 15 minutes to prepare your environment and take part in this practice.
“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.”
